
AAME Offers Free Workshop on Fundraising & Marketing
03.07.2008BRISTOL, Tenn. — Arts Alliance Mountain Empire (AAME) will host a free workshop on fundraising for non-profit organizations and marketing for individual artists on Friday, March 7 at ETSU-Bristol, 1227 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol.
Refreshments and registration will be at 8:30 a.m. The program will run from 9 a.m.?12 Noon.
Jayne Duehring, director of advancement for Barter Theatre, will give the opening presentation, "The ABC's of Fundraising." In the second hour, three different artists will detail the successful techniques they use to sell their products, from books and paintings to crafts. Among them will be Bristol author Joe Tennis, visual artist Suzanne Stryk and fiber artist John Gunther.
Afterwards, participants will divide up into break-out sessions to further explore topics with each speaker. "The breakout sessions are for questions and answers and allow participants to share their own tips and experience," said Carl Clarke, chairperson of the workshop.
Pre-registration is encouraged for these popular workshops. Registration deadline is March 4.
