Bristol's Border Bash Seeks Artists & Crafters

BRISTOL, TN-VA -- Believe in Bristol (BIB) and Arts Alliance Mountain Empire (AAME) are partnering again this year to bring Border Bash 2008 to downtown Bristol. Tourists will Flock to See Giant Statues

My neighbor, Steve Hudson, thinks we should take down the statue of the Confederate soldier next to the courthouse in Abingdon, Va. He says that we should replace it with a statue of a tourist, complete with a camera hanging from his neck and a map in his hand. Tourism, says Steve, is what modern-day Abingdon is all about, and we should just be up-front and honest about it.  Full Story »
